Personalized Nutrition Therapy, Body Image Healing, & Intuitive Eating Coaching
Hi! I’m Annette.
I'm so glad you're here.
I'm a registered dietitian who specializes in not putting you on a diet.
I help people figure out food and nutrition without all the rules, guilt, and constantly wondering if they're doing it wrong.
Sometimes that means healing your relationship with food. Sometimes it means managing a health condition, figuring out how to feed your family, learning how to accept your here-and-now body while living in our very weight-centric culture, or just making sure you actually eat lunch on a busy Tuesday.
Nutrition matters. But what matters more is finding a way of eating that fits your values, supports your health, and actually works in your life—without food taking up so much dang space in your head, and without believing you have to change your body before you can feel at home in it.
“It sometimes is as simple as reminding myself that my body is a good body, that all bodies are good bodies.”
What I believe
More food rules aren’t the answer.
Restriction pulls us away from being able to access the wisdom of our bodies. Cutting out sugar, not eating after dinner, or never allowing yourself to snack will not fix your life like they say it will.
You don’t need to be thin to be healthy.
Your health is about so much more than your body size. The number on the scale doesn't tell me how you eat, move, sleep, manage stress, access healthcare, or experience your life.
Your nutrition fingerprint is unique.
Because your biology, desires, goals, values, and life are all unique. General nutrition recommendations or prescriptive diets usually miss the mark because they don’t know you.
Nutrition is certainly important.
And also, not the end all be all. The key is to strike a balance between giving your health and nutrition the time and energy it deserves, while not allowing it to take over and become your whole life.

Intuitive Eating is a self-care eating framework, created by the dietitians Elyse Resch and Evelyn Tribole, that includes 10 principles and is essentially a “how-to” guide for increasing interoceptive awareness, which is the ability to understand and respond to our body’s messages. It is a self-empowerment tool that puts you back in the driver’s seat of your own body and mind.

It can get a whole lot better. The goal isn't to never have another difficult thought about food or your body. It's to get to a place where those thoughts don't have so much power over what you eat, how you feel about yourself, or how you live your life.

I don't know—and weight loss isn't a goal of our work. Your body may change, or it may not. Rather than trying to manipulate your weight, we'll focus on behaviors that support your nutrition, health, relationship with food, and quality of life.

It depends! Some folks see progress in a matter of weeks, but for others it can take longer. Intuitive eating is a lifelong practice and you will go through many ups and downs on your journey. It takes work, but is well worth it.

I am an out-of-network provider for insurance plans. This means that you pay the full fee directly to me, and, if requested by you, I can provide a statement that contains information about our sessions so that you may apply for reimbursement. If your insurance company requires that some other form be filled out, please have that form available for me to complete. Reimbursement depends on your insurance plan and level of coverage. I recommend that you call and ask if your insurance will reimburse for out-of-network Registered Dietitian services, and what the reimbursement rate might be.
